Is Windows 7 really that good?

What’s new about Windows 7 anyways? Well, some of my friends talks about it but honestly I didn’t paid much attention to it but not this time. Why? Coz, I kept on hearing it when I’m at work which gave myself up and thought about trying it for the meantime.

So I tried it, from the time it loads up I was actually impressed how fast it is providing a friendly GUI interface unlike XP or Vista. I did actually tried to install it on top of my current OS – Windows XP professional.
It will give you two options once loaded as you can see
.

You can even do the formatting and partitioning in an instant.

The installation is quite fast which is very impressive but I guess this will still depend on your computer specification. I’m using an AMD Dual Core actually which I think gave its boost.

Once done I noticed right away how they configure the start up items which is entirely different. All windows brought up are being shrunken though I like the gadgets that you can add in your desktop eg. Weather Forecast, Gallery and if I could remember there was a Forex? ^^, but the downside is that its quite complicated. I listed all the bad side I can think of as its disadvantages below.
-Some programs or computer games are now difficult to get it to work.
-You may try to find workarounds or patches to resolve it.
-You’ll have to learn new ways in doing your regular tasks.
-”Run” command needs to be activated as it is no longer there by default lol.
-You’ll have to login in order to get in as there’s no automatic login.
-Partitioning on the process is just a cosmetic for you can still see the old settings once you are going to install a new OS.
-GUI interface is quite absurd, you’ll have a terrible time creating a folder inside a folder.
-Less than 10 new wallpapers added.
And because of it, I formatted again my computer after 30mins of exploring it. Still love XP over it

My philosophy is, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! I love my Windows XP and I hope I never have to use anything but XP. I’m just happy that we don’t HAVE to swap over. Thanks for this post because I know I’m not going to try it now.

Well I just tried to check how worthy it is but to find out that its not something to replace our old XP is another thing. Yeah right, I’ll have to leave on your philosophy on that :) Thanks Eddie for dropping by.

Windows 7 is the best product I’ve used, so it is a matter of time when everyone will be using it.
